So, let’s talk about stress. I bet you can name one thing (or probably 5) right off the bat causing you stress. Even just thinking about those things probably triggers even more stress.

We all deal with it and can’t fully eliminate it, no way. But wouldn’t it be amazing to be able to shut that five-alarm response down before it gets out of control?

We all know what stress feels like:

  • racing heart

  • stomach ache

  • diarrhea

  • constipation

  • headache

  • irritability

For menopausal women, the impact can be greater because in this stage of life they’re already experiencing a natural decline in their hormones.

It can amp up your symptoms and trigger hot flashes, night sweats, disturbed sleep and then you develop insomnia.

Stress can also cause insomnia outright because you’re staying awake worrying about whatever your stress is and it’s causing you to lose sleep.

Not to mention the mood swings that stress can cause.

Chronic stress is literally a killer. It keeps inflammation in the body on the rise which can manifest all kinds of chronic illnesses.

It’s capable of turning on genes that are better left alone in people who are genetically predisposed to certain health issues.

It’s crucial that we get it under control.

I am not immune to stress by any means but I’ve learned to keep it at bay and do that by using a few different methods.
